🐟 WHITE POMFRET (Silver Pomfret)
*Scientific Name: Pampus argenteus
Local Name (Bangladesh/India): Rupchanda
White Pomfret is a marine fish mostly found in the warm coastal waters of the Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and Bay of Bengal. It prefers sandy or muddy sea bottoms and is often found at depths of 15–60 meters. Major exporting countries include India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Iran.

Pomfret is considered a premium seafood due to its fine texture, mild non-fishy flavor, and low bone content. It is a delicacy in many Asian cuisines and commands a high price in international markets.
Popular in Bengali, Chinese, and Goan preparations, White Pomfret is ideal for light, healthy cooking styles.
Pomfret can be grilled, baked, steamed, or pan-fried. Due to its tender meat, it absorbs flavors well but does not require heavy seasoning.
Popular dishes: Masala Fried Pomfret, Pomfret Curry, Steamed Thai-style Pomfret with lemongrass.
We source only sustainably caught White Pomfret from certified fisheries. Each catch is handled with care and undergoes strict quality checks before packaging and export.
